Novels

Hello everyone!!

Today in this blog I will be talking to you about Novels and answering some questions that were given by our teachers. Enjoy!

Firstly you might be wondering what do you mean by Novels. Well every day after morning tea we get into our homebases and do some literacy. For example read a book with-in our reading groups and then discuss what it says on the literacy circle cards. In my reading group there is 8 people including me. Their names are Tamera, Joanna, Amber, Jakob, Josh, Phoebe and me! (Hannah). The book that we are reading is called 2much4U. I recommend reading this book because so far it's really fun and very interesting. Here are some questions we had to answer that are part of this blog!

Question 1:
Why did you choose this blog?
I didn't choose this book because I was put into a reading group but I still really enjoy it. If I had to choose a story to read out of the selections, I would choose Holes. I would choose Holes because I have seen the movie and really hooked me in and made me really want to read it. Although I might of forgotten some of it because I saw the movie in 2016. 

Question 2:
Summarize what you have read so far.
I have read.. where Devin and his friends were going to a movie but his mum said before they went they had to clean the car and make a salad for Pam. While Devin was cleaning the car, one of the cow's went into the garden so Devin started chasing the cow. Before the cow arrived, Devin had moved the car towards him a bit but forgot to put the handbrake on, so the car went rolling down the hill and then caught on fire! Do you know what's going to happen now?

Question 3:
Has the book started off how you thought? Why? Why not? 
It hasn't started off how I thought because it didn't start off interesting which means it didn't hook me in but now it's getting interesting and makes me want to keep reading this book. 

Question 4:
Describe the literacy method of reading that we are using this term.  How have you found this so far?
The literacy method is where we have cards that we have to do based on the story. They are: Illustrator, Passage Picker, Discussion director, Summarizer, Connector and Word Master. We read a few pages of our story and then do the things that the roles say.

Question 5: 
What are you looking forward to the most in reading this term? Why? 
I am looking forward to becoming a better reader and to understand the story more better than usual.
