Hello Bloggers!
On Monday 16th of October 2017 it was the first day back at school for term 4. The teachers have planned some awesome things for us this term and when we walked into the TUMU hub the fun had began. For the morning, we were going to do Art Rotations based around the whole world. The activity's that we were doing were:
Vietnam Fresh Spring Rolls,
Q,R code scavenge hunt,
Dragon Lanterns,
Hawaiian dance.
Here are some things about the 4 activities:
Vietnam Fresh Spring Rolls:
This activity was the only cooking one but was really fun. At the start we had a look were Vietnam was and what sort of food they eat. When that was done we started making the spring rolls. The ingredients that we used were: Lettuce, Cucumber, Carrot, Noodles and cabbage. We were aloud to pick what we liked even if it was only one thing. Once we had got our ingredients we started making the spring rolls. The steps were.. Firstly we got our sheet of spring roll paper and dipped it in hot water. Then we took it back to our table and added our ingredients in. When that was done, we wrapped it up and started eating it. We had a choice of having some sauce with it or not. I tried a bit of the sauce bit I did not like it. Like I said before, this activity was so fun and would like to do it again soon.
Here is a link to the video that we watched. It is a bit different as we used different ingredients.

Q,R code scavenger hunt:
This activity was based on Japan. We got a piece of paper and we had to try and get all 6 things marked off before the time ran out. The 6 things were:
Create a New Years Mochi Tsuki from play dough.
What is toshikoshi soba?
Say happy new year in Japanese to Ms Brittenden
Find out what's inside a Fukubukuro
Design\draw your own osechi box on a piece of paper
Find out what gets rung and how many times at a shrine for New Year.
This activity was so fun and can not wait to do it again soon.
Dragon Lanterns: This activity was based on China and how they celebrate the Lantern festival. We got given a colored piece of paper and a dragon. With the colored piece of paper we had to do lots of folding and lots of cutting. When we got up to a certain stage we started coloring our dragon with rainbow colors. When it was finished we made the coloring paper into a lantern and then added our dragon to the middle of the lantern. Then it was finished! It was so fun and would love to do it again soon.
Hawaiian Dance: This was the last activity that my home base did. It was based on Hawaii and what sort of dance they do. We listened to a song called (Link) Pearly Shells and copied there dance and tried to learn the dance without looking at the screen. It was really challenging but was heaps of fun. While doing the Hawaiian dance, some of us got to wear some Hawaiian things. They were so cool. This was so fun and would recommend to do this again soon.
The arts rotations were really fun and would ;love to see some other classes do it too!
Have you ever done 1 of these activity's?
