Hello everyone and welcome back!!
On Thursday the 3rd of May 2018 the whole school that is at St Francis of Assisi school took part in the cross country. Cross country is where you run around a certain ground for a certain amount of laps. At my school we have four hubs. They are: Kakano (Year 1 and 2), Paiaka (Year 3 and 4), Tumu (Year 5 and 6) and Kaupeka (Year 7 and 8). The Kakano hub did half a lap. The Paiaka hub did a lap and a half. The Tumu hub did 2 laps and the Kaupeka hub did 3 laps. This took place at Walter park!
Firstly we walked to Walter park. Along the way the Kaupeka hub had a buddy from Kakano to walk with until we had arrived at Walter park. When had arrived we sat down and listened to the briefing. After that the Kaupeka hub were aloud to do some warm ups for cross country as we were going first. When that was done the year 8 boys started there race. A little while after the year 8 girls started off. Then every few minutes the year groups raced. It went on and on until everyone was finished.
Although when the year 7&8's had finished racing some of us had to race another few laps as we had to help the year 1&2's and 3\4's with there racing. I got to do it once which was much calmer than my other laps before!
When it was all over we packed up and then headed back to school. It was a great adventure and can not wait until next year to do it all over again!
I will be adding photos soon from cross country but not just yet as we haven't got them right now. I will update the blog with the photos very soon! Keep having a look and keeping updating with my blog as I do post a lot of blogs a week if I can!
